Apex Custom Homes is an emerging custom home builder in the upstate. Apex Custom Homes was founded in 2002 by licensed residential builder Joel Barrs and his wife, Kim. While Apex is relatively new, Apex President, Joel Barrs, is no stranger to the custom home market in the upstate. Joel has over 15 years experience in the residential home building industry. Joel worked his way up the ladder, gaining valuable experience as an apprentice to a custom home builder, a subcontractor for many local builders, and a superintendent to a well-respected upstate custom home builder. Joel has learned the value of quality work, attention to detail and responsiveness to the customer's needs, desires and concerns. Joel is joined by his wife, Kim, who brings a strong administrative and organizational presence to the team. Kim is a CPA who spent 8 years with a national public accounting firm prior to being CFO for two community banks in the upstate. Apex has built long lasting relationships with many of the areas finest subcontractors and suppliers.
